The ALABAMA DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES, (hereinafter referred to as
“the Department” or “DHR”) seeks a qualified Vendor to install, brand,
and host Moodle, an open source Learning Management System (LMS). Moodle
is a free web application that supports create effective online learning
sites. The Department is aware that there are other free open sources
that may meet the requirements identified in this procurement document.
Therefore, in additional to the Moodle application, Vendors are
encouraged to propose an optional application if one is known and is
thought to meet all of the Department’s needs.
Proposed services must include provisions for a help desk, LMS upgrades,
nightly backups, semi-monthly updates from the state database via
(typically) text file, and emergency restoration. A more complete
