Most Alabamans can participate in A-RESET. Joining A-RESET is voluntary. This means that you decide if you want to participate in the program. However, if you are an ABAWD, this program may help you meet your 20 hours a week requirement to maintain your SNAP benefits.

You can receive A-RESET services if you are:

  • Getting food assistance benefits (SNAP) in an eligible county.
  • Age 16 or older.
  • Physically and mentally capable of working.
  • Able to start participating immediately.
  • Intend to work after you finish the A-RESET program

You cannot receive A-RESET services if you are:

  • Getting TANF cash benefits.
  • Between 16 and 18 and enrolled in high school.
  • Under age 16.
  • Over age 65.
