Subsidy Overview
The Office of Child Care Subsidy administers the subsidized child care program funded through the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF).The mission of the program is to provide Alabama’s low and moderate-income families with equal access to affordable and quality child care services as they participate in work, educational or training activities. Currently, the Department administers the program regionally through four (4) Child Care Management Agencies (CMA’s) in nine (9) regions.
Who is Eligible For Subsidized Day Care Services?
You may be eligible for services if you are making your home in Alabama and are employed and/or enrolled in school/training and making no more income than is allowable.

Chilton/Coosa County DHR Social Worker Receives 2012 Alabama Spirit of Adult Services Award
Billie Robinson, a social worker with the Chilton and Coosa County Department of Human Resources (DHR), has been awarded the 2012 Alabama Spirit of Adult Protective Services Award. The award, presented at a celebration in Montgomery, is given annually to a frontline worker who, through his or her own initiative and ideas, makes significant contribution to the growth and development of the Adult Protective Services program.
DHR social worker named State Employee of the Year
The State of Alabama Personnel Department has selected Ms. Holly Painter, a social service caseworker in Talladega County, as the 2012 Alabama State Employee of the Year. An award ceremony was held Thursday, June 7th at the Talladega County Department of Human Resources to recognize Ms. Painter for her dedication to insuring the safety of children and her outstanding working relationship with community partners.
