Food Assistance Outreach Services RFP

The ALABAMA DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES, (hereinafter referred to as “the Department”) seeks qualified community-based non-profit organizations to provide Food Assistance Program Outreach Services in the following counties: Lee, Walker, Morgan, Baldwin, Tuscaloosa, Madison, Lauderdale, Etowah, Cullman, Shelby, Marshall, Jefferson, DeKalb, Talladega, Calhoun, Mobile, Montgomery, Bullock, Franklin, Blount, Houston, Barbour, and Colbert. These services require interaction with low-income individuals and households who are potentially eligible for Food Assistance benefits, but are currently not receiving them. Selected organizations must provide eligibility information through multiple media such as; brochures, posters, flyers, etc. to individuals, families, faith based organizations, and other community organizations including, but not limited to food pantries, food banks, famers markets, church feeding programs, schools, grocery stores, Hispanic organizations serving low-income and unemployed individuals and families, low income housing sites, HeadStart Centers, day care centers and employment service agencies. Programmatic information must also be distributed to employers for display on bulletin boards, at community health fairs and other community gatherings where large numbers of individuals who may be eligible for services are expected to attend. A more complete description of the services sought for this project is provided in Section 3, Scope of Project. Proposals submitted in response to this solicitation must comply with the instructions and procedures contained herein.
